Expansion Project
As children leave the home, their places are quickly filled -- with children always needing care, nurture and love. When operating at maximum capacity, the Home must turn away further referrals of children from the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Our goal is to be able to rescue more children from dire circumstances and give them safe shelter until an alternative plan can be made for their future.
This continual flow of children through our doors has caused us to begin to formulate a plan for future expansion of the Rehoboth Children's Home. In October of 2006, we were able to secure the funds to purchase 2 hectares of land directly across the road from the current facility. In 2007, Engineering Ministries International (eMi) joined us for nine days and helped us discover and design a comprehensive plan to build our our God inspired vision for the land. From the eMi engineering studies a capital campaign plan developed to accomplish this vision, beginning with Phase One Construction of a security fence, medical clinic, new baby home for infants and an administration building. For more information about the progress of this exciting development, read The Rehoboth Children's Home Expansion Project brochure, and view the latest photos on our Facebook Photos.
The large size of this piece of ground opens the door to a continued vision of growth in the future. It will also provide an opportunity for the Home to develop some self-sufficiency by growing its own produce and establishing a few commercial ventures. We feel very blessed that this land became available and that God provided the financial resources that allowed us to acquire this piece of ground. We look to His guidance in the development of the land so that it may be used to His glory.
Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory!
Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain.
